Argo International builds Directors and Officers team with two underwriting appointments 

Argo International, a specialist Lloyd’s insurer and subsidiary of Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ: AGII), today announces that it has further added to its Directors and Officers (D&O) team with the appointment of Rita Mistry and Anthony Hope.

Reporting in to Paul Kneafsey, Rita and Anthony join Argo International from Dual Corporate Risks’ D&O division, where they were central to the expansion of the company’s D&O portfolio.

Their appointment follows the recruitment of Andrew Robertson to Argo International’s D&O team.  Rita and Anthony will join Andrew to write flexible D&O solutions as part of Argo International’s wider Financial Lines business.

Argo International adds to Professional Indemnity team with underwriting appointment

Argo International, a specialist Lloyd’s insurer and subsidiary of Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ: AGII), today announces that it has appointed James Russell as Underwriter to its Professional Indemnity team. 

Mr. Russell joins from Heath Lambert, where he worked for the last eight years in a senior broking role as Director of the Financial and Professional Risks Division. During his time at Heath Lambert, Mr. Russell was responsible for all Professional Indemnity broking in the group and specialised in the construction, legal and technology sectors.

"James brings with him an excellent understanding of the PI market and I am confident we will benefit from his wide-ranging experience,” Argo International CEO Julian Enoizi said.  “We are committed to building our portfolio of products and investment in talent is fundamental to the successful expansion of our underwriting proposition to brokers and their clients.”

Argo International drives growth with appointment of Tony Cabot as Director of Product Development for Europe and Asia

Argo International, a specialist Lloyd’s insurer and subsidiary of Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ: AGII), today announces that it has appointed Tony Cabot to support its active international growth strategy. 

Mr. Cabot joins Argo International from XL Insurance, where he was most recently Product Development Manager and Director of Global Programs in Zurich.  In these two combined roles, he was responsible for product development and for building a consistent approach to delivering and servicing programs to international clients. 

Previously, Mr. Cabot also held the roles of Country Manager in Italy and Regional Sales & Marketing Manager for a major International insurer. Tony also brings many years of experience as an international P&C broker and Risk Manager to the Argo team.

As an active member of CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Society) and the United Nations Environmental Program Finance Initiative as a member of the Insurance Commission Tony helps address global issues such as Sustainable Underwriting practices and insurance solutions for the renewable energy sector. 

In his role at Argo International, Mr. Cabot will be responsible for identifying product and market opportunities in Europe and Asia and supporting the overall development of Argo International’s growth strategy.

Argo International expands property team with senior underwriting appointment

Argo International, a specialist Lloyd’s insurer and subsidiary of Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ: AGII), today announces that, as part of the continued development of its underwriting business, it has appointed Alexander Campbell to the role of class underwriter of its direct and facultative property team. 

Mr Campbell, who takes up the position on 01 July, joins Argo International from Glacier Insurance, where he helped to establish and develop Glacier’s property underwriting presence in the UK. Previously Mr Campbell was responsible for developing business and group strategy within the property division of Arch Insurance Company Europe Ltd.

In his role at Argo International, Mr Campbell will be mainly responsible for large worldwide, ex-USA industrial business and will report to Neil Chapman, active underwriter and head of Argo International’s property underwriting.

Argo International Appoints Internatioanl Treaty Class Underwriter

Argo International, a specialist Lloyd’s insurer and subsidiary of Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ: AGII), today announces that it has appointed Craig Roberts as Class Underwriter of its International Treaty team.

Mr Roberts, who has over two decades of industry experience, has been  working with Aon Benfield’s Reinsurance Division and Global Binder Team since 2005.  Prior to this, Mr Roberts worked at BMS International Intermediaries as an Executive Director and was previously Deputy Class Underwriter and Vice President at Lloyd’s Managing Agency XL Brockbank Limited.   

In his new role, he will manage Argo International’s developing International Treaty book and will work closely with Andrew Carrier, Argo International Underwriting Director and President of Argo Re, to assist in harmonizing Argo Group’s global reinsurance underwriting strategy.

Mr Roberts takes over the role from James Braddock, who will be leaving Argo International to pursue other opportunities.
